At North Texas Oral & Facial Surgery, our mission is to establish a practice that exhibits excellent surgical care, integrity, and dependability for our patients, fellow healthcare providers, and the communities in which we serve.
With our state-of-the-art facilities and highly trained staff, we aim to provide the highest level of care within a trusting, nurturing environment where your comfort and health are always paramount.
Sedation is an option for our patients who either want to be fully or partially sedated during their treatment. Oral surgery can be a frightening experience for many people, so utilizing sedation can make your experience with us a lot more comfortable. We offer several different types of sedatives. Local anesthetic is typically used to numb one area of the mouth while treatment is being administered.
Sedation is beneficial for several different reasons. Patients who have anxiety or who suffer panic attacks can benefit greatly from sedation. If you’re undergoing a more complex procedure, sedation can relax you so that the treatment is quicker and easier for you. Whether you’re undergoing implant surgery or having your wisdom teeth removed, sedation is useful in making the treatment easier and more comfortable.
Before recommending or administering any type of sedative, we will review your health and medical history. We will then provide you with the options available so that you can choose which one you think you’d benefit from the most during your appointment. For most sedation, we will ask that our patients have a friend or relative bring them from the office after treatment is finished. It is unsafe for you to drive yourself after undergoing sedation.
