Dental Implants in Wylie, TX

Whether you’re missing one tooth or multiple teeth, it can quickly start to impact your confidence and ability to chew and speak. You don’t need to hide your smile! Modern restorative dentistry has made it possible to restore missing teeth that look, function and feel just like natural teeth. You’re not doomed to a life of wearing dentures or hiding gaps in your smile – you can still enjoy a complete smile thanks to dental implants!

What are Dental Implants?

Your tooth is anchored to your gums and jawbone by your tooth roots. That’s why when you loose a tooth, you can’t simply pop a crown on and carry on – the crown needs something to be anchored to. Dental implants have been designed to act like those missing tooth roots, providing a stable foundation for us to place restorations like crowns, bridges and even full arches.

Implants are made from biocompatible titanium for a strong, durable platform for your replacement teeth. These posts are surgically inserted into the jawbone and fuse with the surrounding bone over time.

Why We Recommend Them

  • Implants are as close to having natural teeth as you can get! That’s why they remain the gold standard in replacing missing teeth.
  • Titanium is biocompatible which means it is compatible with living tissue. This means it is unlikely to be rejected by the surrounding gum and bone which would cause implant failure.
  • Dental implants are flexible in that we can use them to replace one tooth, a few adjacent teeth or an entire arch of teeth.
  • Dentures can slip out of place and feel very unnatural, whereas implants are fixed in place just like natural teeth.

Who is a Good Candidate?

  • You are missing one, multiple or all teeth due to periodontal disease, trauma or ageing.
  • Dental implants are only suitable for adult patients whose jaws have reached full maturity.
  • You should be in good overall health without any uncontrolled conditions like diabetes, heart disease or cancer, as these can hinder proper healing.
  • You should avoid smoking and drinking alcohol to ensure your implants heal properly.
  • You should not have any active gum disease. If you do, Dr. Ganti will need you to get this treated before we can place the implants.
  • You should be committed to maintaining good oral hygiene and attending regular check-ups to keep your implants in mint condition.

What To Expect

First, we numb the area that will be worked on. We then make a small incision through the gums to place the titanium implant post, using high-tech tools. The implant is embedded deep into the jawbone and will go through a period of osseointegration in which the implant and jawbone fuse together. This takes around 6 months for most patients.

Once healed, we’ll make a special crown that fits over the implant’s abutment to finish off your smile.

Guided Implant Surgery

Technology has enabled us to create a surgical guide to facilitate exact angulation during the implant placement, which ultimately results in the better outcomes for our patients. The surgical guide is made in the dental lab, or be produced by CAD/CAM technology, depending on the surgical precision required in each case. Proper dental implant treatment planning usually requires 3-D imaging by our in-office scanner to display important anatomical structures and data points for precise surgical planning.

Implant-Supported Bridges

When you're missing a few teeth in a row, we can secure a porcelain bridge to implant posts to fill the gap in your smile!

All-On-4 Dental Implants

When you're missing an entire arch of teeth, Dr. Ganti can use the arch on 4 technique to secure a prosthetic arch to just 4 implants.
