Orthodontics
What are Orthodontics?
Orthodontic treatment is specifically designed to realign and perfect the look of your teeth. Most patients don’t have perfectly straight teeth, so it only makes sense that orthodontic treatment can be beneficial in creating beautiful, healthy smiles. We offer a range of orthodontic treatment options for patients of all ages. We welcome you to come into our office for a consultation regarding this type of treatment and care.
Why would Orthodontic treatment be needed?
If your teeth are crowded, misaligned, unevenly spaced or if you have a malocclusion of any kind, it can be difficult to feel confident in yourself. Likewise, you might find it difficult or even impossible to completely brush and floss your teeth. This can contribute to both gum disease and tooth decay. Realigning your smile can improve your confidence and your overall oral health.
Who is a candidate for Orthodontic treatment?
Most patients are good candidates for orthodontic treatment. The reason for this is because there is absolutely no age limit when it comes to realigning and straightening your smile. For parents, we recommend bringing children in for their first orthodontic consult around the time they are seven years old. As an adult, it’s never too late to start loving your smile thanks to orthodontics.
What happens during Orthodontic treatment?
The orthodontic treatment process will begin with a consultation. This allows us to get to know you and your smile goals. We take x-rays and impressions of your teeth to create a unique treatment plan. You can expect treatment to take anywhere from a few months to several years depending on the amount of work that needs to be done. In order for treatment to go well, you will need to make time to come in for regular appointments. These orthodontic appointments will involve readjustments to any appliances you’re wearing as well as making new aligners if you’re utilizing clear aligner treatment.
